Mr. Howard has over 20 years of commercial litigation experience, having focused his practice primarily on toxic torts, products liability and transportation law. His practice is now almost exclusively transportation related. He currently represents clients in U.S. District Courts across the country in connection with freight revenue, demurrage, freight loss and damage, and derailment related claims, as well as a variety of transportation related, contractual, and commercial matters.

Jim has extensive trial experience, having served as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia. Jim prosecuted both jury trials and bench trials in high profile cases as a member of the Major Trials Unit. After leaving the District Attorney's Office, Jim was responsible for multi-district Civil litigation in U.S. District Courts involving a variety of contract issues. Jim now concentrates his practice on interstate transportation issues primarily before U.S. District Courts. Jim has been an instructor, given presentations, and authored articles on a wide range of trial advocacy issues.

After representing clients for several years in connection with large multidistrict antitrust and class action litigation matters, David now focuses his practice on commercial transportation contract issues and commercial fraud investigations. Utilizing his past experience, David is involved primarily with large complex matters requiring considerable management and organizational skills. David is an avid chess player and active in U.S. Congressional politics.

Varghese M. Kurian is an experienced trial lawyer having previously served as a prosecutor and participant in several law enforcement task forces. Varghese has the distinction of having been awarded an LLM in trial advocacy from Temple University School of Law, and also served as a judicial law clerk. Varghese now focuses his practice upon commercial freight transportation issues, primarily representing rail and motor carriers before U.S. District Courts. Varghese also investigates commercial fraud within the freight transportation industry.

After completing his federal judicial clerkship, Chris served as Special Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Section of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office. While with the Attorney General, Chris successfully defended a wide range of claims in both arbitration and in the courts. A native of North Carolina, Chris now focuses his practice on the representation of rail and motor carriers in connection with defending high value freight loss claims and other freight related commercial litigation. Chris speaks fluent German (having served as an intern for the German Parliament in Berlin) and is an experienced sommelier.
